On the second full day of our visit, PAOS brought us around to some of the different atmospheric science research organizations that are located in Boulder, the so-called "capital of atmospheric science" ... this is the space probe that was sent on the Mariner 6 and Mariner 7 missions, located at LASP, the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics ... LASP made three of these probes for NASA, and NASA was so happy with the performance of the probes on the Mariner 6 & 7 missions that they let LASP keep the third probe, this one that's now on display
